A Brief History of Genie

In 1974, the company was renamed Genie Industries and began to focus on manufacturing and selling aerial work platforms and lifting equipment. Over the following decades, Genie continued to introduce new product lines and technological innovations, including telescopic boom lifts, scissor lifts, and excavators with lifting platforms.

In 1998, Genie was acquired by U.S. manufacturer Terex and became part of its lifting equipment division. Over time, Genie continued to make progress in product innovation, quality, service, and sustainability, earning broad recognition and trust worldwide.

In 2019, Terex sold Genie to the French manufacturer Altais Group, making Genie a part of the group.
