Brand History

In 1906, Soichiro Honda developed a strong interest in automotive mechanics and racing during his apprenticeship in Tokyo. He not only built race cars but also became a racer himself.

1937

Although Tokai Seiki Company was capable of manufacturing durable piston rings, their quality did not meet the standards. Over the next few years, Soichiro Honda continuously improved the quality and achieved automated production, gaining recognition from Toyota for their products.

1947

Soichiro Honda, along with Takeo Fujisawa (later Honda's second president), successfully developed the first engine bearing the Honda logo. In 1948, Soichiro Honda established Honda Technical Research Institute.

1963

The Honda T360 was a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive micro-truck, featuring a "May Blue" paint and headlights integrated into the engine hood.

1964-1966

Honda introduced the S600 as a replacement for the previous S500 model, offering both Roadster and Coupe versions.

1970

Honda's automotive business gradually gained momentum. In 1970, Honda launched the Z360 and Z600 models. At the same time, Honda actively expanded into markets outside of Japan, exporting their products to countries including Europe and America.

2009-present

Honda has worked on technological innovation and research and development. They have introduced various advanced technologies and innovative products, such as VTEC engines, hybrid systems, and fuel cell vehicles.
